I realise that I've been blindly celebrating my birthday for the past eighteen years :O (or sometimes i didnt even bother to celebrate it at all..)
Today, on my birth day in the year of 2010, I've finally found meaning in celebrating this day, the day I was brought to this world. I'm thankful for that. If not for that, I'll not be able to experience such a wonderful LIFE filled with all sorts of experiences.

I had a special countdown to 2010!
I slept through the last night of 2009 till the first morning of 2010 :p It was super goood~ that was the most peaceful countdown I've ever had!
Haha I was actually soo tired that I was unable to even stay up till midnight..

K instead of the usual new year's resolution, i shall come up with monthly resolutions :)

After watching Michael Jackson's concert on TV, my mama and I were really touched by him and his songs. Some of his songs are very meaningful and I think that touched a lot of people all over the world. It's really a pity that he has left all of us. I never thought I would regard him as my idol, but now I do.

My first day riding to school.

Whee~

Yupp, I got my motorcycle 2B license already, on 16th July. :)

It was really a relief tho! Cos I accumulated 18 demerit points for my Traffic Police Test on that day! Fyi, one cannot accumulate more than 18 demerit points in order to pass the test. So, I WAS REALLY LUCKY! I certainly would not want to go for a re-test and go back to the driving centre for more practices!

But on a side note, I think my effort really paid off. Besides being serious and focused during the motorcycle practical lessons, I used to practise on my mama's bike at my housing estate's carpark sometimes (ooops this is kind of illegal.. but I just rode rounds & rounds in the carpark & it did help to boost my confidence!). Practice makes perfect. Hm.

Anw I remembered after we were told that we passed the test, we had to take a pledge. & it ends with something like this...
"We will ride safely and stay alive. "
Although it may sound quite funny to some at first, the message brought across is serious. Speeding kills.

Although I'm still an inexperienced rider, I'll try to be as alert as I can at all times on the roads.

Yay we won in the Inter-school Girls' Water Polo Finals today! :D We scored 4-2 against SAJC. All the trainings and strategising have really paid off:) & I'm also extremely thankful for my strained ligaments, which got better ~1 month before the competition! Thank God:) Haha our team was sooo fun! I'll never forget this wonderful experience:)

Today is the celebration of my church's 20th Anniversary @ Singapore Expo. One of the performances showcased was called the Hands Of Love &... I was part of it! We've been rehearsing hard for the past one month or so! It might seem simple & easy, but it really requires quite an amount of arm strength, flexibility of the fingers & PERSEVERANCE. Try holding your hands in the air for a few minutes & you'll understand! Anyway, our performance was based on the very meaningful song called We Were The Reason. Although the images shown were mostly repetitive, but hope that you'll enjoy it 'cos we really put in a lot of effort in practising and synchronising our actions! Take note of the lyrics!

Btw, here's a video of the trip that the OSL juniors went last year. The trip was in partnership with Nguyen Tri Phuong Junior High School (NTP), Hue, Vietnam from 13/3/2008 to 21/3/2008.

...& the SGS Service Learning trip to Sok Ann High School, Takeo Province, Cambodia. November 30 to December 14, 2008. Hm apparently the SGS team went to the same place (Sok Ann High School) as the RGS OSL team.. The High School's basketball court finally has a flat cemented ground for their basketball court, which was previously covered by grass patches when my batch went there in 2007! Those in lime green shirts are the OSL juniors!

I'M BACK IN SINGAPORE !

Like the previous Service Learning trips I've had before, two weeks have passed in a blink of eye.
Sigh I MISS LIJIANG VERY MUCH and the memorable times spent with my team members! The food, mountains, cold weather, everything! I think all ISLE China team members are suffering from post-trip withdrawal symptoms now.. :(

I MISS ALL MY LIJIANG FRIENDS TOO!! - lin ping, lin qiang, zheng xiang, zhang mei, xue min, xiao pang, si qiang, sam, zhao yong, blue, penrose and many many others!

I thought my last day (during R&R period) in Lijiang was the most memorable time I've ever had with my Lijiang friends because we went to climb the elephant mountain together! The feeling was just GREAT sitting on the ROOFTOP of the pavilion at the peak of the mountain! I could see the top view of Lijiang city and that was really amazing. :D THANKS to those Lijiang friends who came specially to accompany Yinqi and I to climb the mountain. I really appreciate it a lot. :)

I will definitely go back to Lijiang again in future when I grow up. It is a very beautiful place indeed, filled with many wonderful memories..

Anyway, here's an update on America's Next Top Model Cycle 11. The winner of the competition is... McKey!!!
I think she really has what it takes to be an outstanding model. Not only does she has the body of a model and pretty, outstanding facial features, she has a good personality as well!
On the other hand, I feel that Analeigh and Marjorie, who both got into the final four, have also what it takes to be a model.

ISLE China team will be providing car washing and vacuuming services this Wedesday and Thursday as Teachers' Day gifts for the teachers. We'll be setting up a booth along the canteen walkway from MON (25/8) to THURS (28/8) for the sale of car washing/vacuumming coupons, which are very nicely & well done by cheryl. If you want any of your teachers' cars to be washed, come down to our booth and buy the coupons now k! Here're the prices: car wash - $12; car vacuum - $5; car wash and vacuum - $15. Those who buy the coupons can also pass us your Teachers' Day notes too so that we can help you place it on your Teacher's car windscreen or something haha.. (:

Btw we'll be selling the souvenirs we bought from Li Jiang (China) again. Items include necklaces, wallets, coin and handphone pouches, etc... We've revised the prices of some items(:

Hello! :)

Thanks to those who helped & supported ISLE China team's sale of bubble tea and souvenirs on Scholarship Day in one way or another! We really appreciate it! Btw we will be selling the souvenirs we bought from Li Jiang, China, on the this wed (6/8) & thurs (7/8) as well as providing carwashing services on Teachers' Day itself and the week before. So pls support our fundraising events! All funds raised will go to our service in Li Jiang, China.

Anw yesterday's fundraising event was great! We managed to clear up all 300 cups of bubble tea we've ordered, despite the high competition with other isle teams. It was really great effort! :D

Grr my strained ligaments havent recover yet! it's taking ages.. :( i can only walk now and have to refrain from jumping, running, etc if not my injury will worsen.. :( & i cannot kick hard when i swim = cannot train. I wanna kickboxing during PE lsns, go swim training again, run, jump... ... ! anw hope things will get better:)

ACM Visit!

Hey!

Our isle camp was cancelled and postponed due to very poor attendance. So those who can make it for the visit to Asian Civilisation Museum (ACM) went for it as planned, as the visit has been booked already. Thanks to those who pushed their other commitments aside to make it for the ACM visit! Really appreciate it:)

The visit yesterday was really interesting and fun! I thought those who went definitely benefitted from it and some ice was broken amongst us, which is v. good! We were starving throughout the visit cos most of us didnt have dinner while some felt hungry again haha.. So after the visit we decided to go to a nearby Mc Donald's to have supper together since the food at CBD area is quite ex. :/ Anw it was really great chatting while eating together. I believe everyone got to know one another better:) ie. Madhu and Sara realised during the bus ride to ACM that they and Zheng Ning were actually from the same kindergarten school!! Haha it was really surprising! Overall it was indeed a fruitful trip!

The inter-school swim nationals heats were over, but the FINALS are this wk! I've 50m Back on Tues morn & 100m Back on Wed noon.
RJswim team will have a team dinner on Wed evening!
Mm I thought I got into the finals out of mere luck cos I havent been training for wks (hmm.) bcos of isle & other commitments...
Anw it was really GGRREEAAT to get back into the pool splashing water, seeing Ms Mariette Ong (rg swim teacher ic), all our rg juniors & 'old' swim friends and simply just experiencing that competitive atmosphere again! :D
I really enjoyed it.
FINALS will be even more exciting as the whole atmosphere will get even more competitive!! So DO COME DOWN TO THE S'PORE SPORTS SCHOOL TO SUPPORT & CHEER THE RJC SWIM TEAM ON!! :D

hmm.. I strained one of my knee ligaments during last sat's water polo training.. :(( That's bad cos my knee hurts whenever it is bent in certain awkard positions, for example, when doing breastroke kicks.. :/ I went to the doctor today & was given TWO WKS excuse from PE & other vigorous activities. However, I've subsequent upcoming competitions: 1. Swim Finals this wk 2. Inter-School Water Polo Competition on 17th July 3. Lifesaving Competition in Aug. SO, I'm really praying hard & hoping that it will recover in time so that it will not affect my performance during the competitions..

Ohh ISLE Camp is on the 25th-27th JULY! I'm really looking forward to it! Team bonding will be one of the camp's objectives:) it'll be v FUN!! :D

Heyhey blog:) I haven't been updating you for ssoooooooooo long! almost 1 year right... hm my blog pic is gone too :( Anw this 'll just be a short post:

It's June hols, but i'm still vvv busy w all my commitments! - ISLE, studies, class stuff, piano, swimming, water polo, lifesaving... :/ Time really flies..it's already the 3rd wk of hols :/ Yup I've tried my best to mug as much as I can since hols starts. Wish me luck in prep for CTs :) Anw I'll be leaving tmr morn for my ISLE (China) Recce Trip to Lijiang, Yunnan Province! Whheeee--- Really really hope the trip will be a safe, smooth, fun as well as a fruitful one. Yup. Then the whole team will begin the execution of prep work after CTs in Term 3! :0 I'm really glad to be given this opportunity to lead my team in this ISLE project :) The upcoming months will not be easy and there may be obstacles and difficulties during the prep process or even the trip itself, but I believe we can overcome it right! :/ Yup let's together make this project a success as well as a memorable one:)))

Hm I'm left w the last wk of june hols to MUG MUG MUG for CTs!! I have to chiong mugging after I come back.. Good luck jasmine -.- ha

i went out with my primary school friends today - Su Xiang & Yew Chen! We watched Skyhigh. the movie was quite funny. haha. we took neoprint too. but we ran out of time decorating the photos.

after that Yew Chen & i walked to the mrt & it was drizzling. rain slightly bigger. then suddenly there was a downpour! we were caught in the heavy rain! we were both half drenched by the time we reach the mrt. lucky Su Xiang was still @ Cathay waiting for her father. haha.

DRAMA NIGHT!!

We got back our amended results today. my GPA remain the same. *phew!*.
Rita sprained her ankle! Poor girl. Hope she is fine now.

i love 209's performance! i think it was GREAT! well done & 3 cheers for 209! HIP HIP HOORAY (x3) !!! 108 also did a great job! so proud of my juniors. hahaah!! :D The other classes also performed very well! Drama Night was really enjoyable. I took lots of photos today! :) but mine isn't digital camera. *frown*

Everyone went home very late tonight coz Drama Night ended @ around 10! *yawn---*

Maths Trail @ the Esplanade today was quite fun! at least better than being held in school.. we were all very busy... copying answers! [hahaa! not all.] Kai Yan & Cheryl were very good @ estimation!! sooo zhun3!

aniwae. we returned back to school to get back our progress reports. i was soooo NERVOUS!! but in the end it turned out not too bad.. i improved!! haha.

We had farewell assembly & class clean up operation today. I mopped the most area classroom floor. Bo Ya mopped the remaining area.. I was struggling coz i need to fight with Bo Ya , Marissa Sim & Adilah over volunteering to mop the floor. haha!! so funnie..

Farewell Assembly was GREAT!! The graduation song was played & everybody sang along... ~~~As we go on, we remember, all the times we, have together... ... ...~~~ [not sure whether the lyrics were correct.. :p]

After was the Centralised Training from 2.30-4.30pm. it was not exactly a training anyway. coz it was meant to be a farewell party for the sec 4s & welcome party for the next year DSA sec 1s. I stuffed myself with lotsa junk food coz i was VERY HUNGRY. my tummy was bloated with food. SO FULLL. anyway i went to training after that. today is wednesday so we did mainly plunges & sprints..

my popo (grandmama) & i are crazy over a korean show called tian1 guo2 de4 jie1 ti1. The female lead actress contracted cancer & turned blind!! in e i-magazine it said that in the end she will die!! & thus will not be able 2 be together with her lover.. sooo saaadd..
after telling my popo the woman's pitiful plight in the end, both my popo & i mourned and grieved over her death... SOOOO SAAADD!!! *burst into tears*

We went 2 snow city 2dae!!! It was sooo fun!!

Mr Ganesh went there too!! Everyone was f_r_e_e_z_i_n_g... Some ppl were so cold that their faces turned pink!! sooo cute!! Erm.. we played snow fight.. (wif Mr Ganesh too!!) Peixian "revealed" her hay-wired hair.. hahaz.. (no offence) :p

After playing, we had a talk on liquid hydrogen, how snow's form & ... ... The talk was interesting..

E audition was held in e gym. Thus we cannot rely alot on "special effects" (lights) ... ... Mr connolloy was 1 of e judges!

Every1 enjoyed e audition. It was great!! Every class's performance was outstandin!! Finally, classes 102, 109, 111 & 113 got into e Drama Night!!

Yahoo!! Sku was great 2dae!! It was realli a memorable experience [ICCS]!! E whole sec 1 cohort went 2 e East Coast Park 4 e International Coastal Cleaning (Singapore)!! Our mission was 2 "clean" e beach by collectin rubbish.
My grp: Bo Ya(Grp Leader), PX(Trashbag Holder) *hahaha...* , Haslina, Yvonne Tan & me were rubbish collectors.
We collected rubbish & seashells!! We collected 1 whole plastic bag of seashells!!
There was 1 very interestin event that happened 2dae on e beach!! We found 2 "crab-like" organism (bout e size of a human's head) - male & female, mating. We happened 2 b EVIL & CRUEL ppl...so we "disrupted" their mating process!! *hahaha...* Mrs Chin "sent" them back into e sea. Most of e 108tians "escorted" e both creatures. We were fascinated!! [especially PX!!]
We also saw a few small, tiny, puny, little crabbies on e beach!!
After that, we gathered all e rubbish 2gether & made a "Disney Land/World"!! Aniwae, dis was wat we were supposed 2 do!! We had 2 cum out wif a song/rap/skit (30secc) 4 our class presentation. It was a inter-class competition actualli... [fun!!]
On our wwae back 2 sku, e bus driver, Mr Ang, was kind enuf 2 stop & let us buy Mc Donald's!! I shared mi hashbrownie wif Ritz. Haaha!! PX didn't manage 2 steal mi food!!
Later on, we went 2 e Gym 2 watch our presentation & then we were dismissed!!
Bo Ya, Ritz, PX & me went back 2 class 2 sort out e seashells b 4 we go 2 far east plaza 2 take neoprint fotos!! Unfortunateli, Bo Ya was irritated by PX. Haha...PX is realli an "irritator". jkjk... Yvonne Tan, PX & me went 2 LJS 2 eat after e foto-takin.

School was extremeli fun todae!!! We did e Aces Dae routine, "the Buckle Heartbeat" @ e netball courts & @ e field. I'm in BUCKLE!!!*Applause...* Every-1 wore their house t-shirts & e t-chers joined in too!! We were very ENTHUSIASTIC!!*cough...*
Later on, we proceeded 2 e amphi theatre 2 watched e t-chers dae celebration!! *feelin excited* 1st, there was a inter-class comp. The performance was great!!:o Next-e Singapore Idol, etc... There was also a performance by "Michael Jackson", "Avril Lavigne" & mani more!! E t-chers performed wildli & openli...such as Mr Soh, Mr Yap, Ms Neo, Dr Slatter, etc...
After sku, (approx @ 10am) almost everi 1 made their wae 2 their own primary skus 2 "visit" their tchers...
Some had signed up 4 games such as captain ball, etc 2 compete wif e tchers!!:)
I went back 2 mi pri sku-NHPS!! E tchers I met: Ms Chua, Mdm Cho, Mrs Ng, Mrs Lan, Mdm Fong(formal principal)!!! & some other tchers...
We were @ e auditorium watchin e performance...
I met Suxiang, Lu Xin, Joshua, Samuel(scholar of 2004)!!! & mi class & rgs ppl... :)
it was great 2 see mi pri sku friens again!! I guess i saw Ting Wen too!

The 2nd time trial was held dis morning. The events were: 50m fly, back & breast. I was glad i improved my timing in all events.->a sense of accomplishment.
I arrived @ Singapore Swimming Club(SSC) 4 the invitational relae at around 1.30-2pm. The team members are Christel, Jin Hui, Chun Hui, Michelle(reserve) & me!! We were given $5 each. My team won 2nd/silver!! *applause!!* I saw Lee Ning & Katrina there. Lee Ning's team got 1st/gold!! *applause!!*
After the swim, we went 2 e "jaquzzi"(not so sure bout e spelling...) It was FUN!! We were busi "collecting" the foam. I had a great time there!! :)
At the end of the dae---my whole body was aching, mi muscles were wobbly & I m ...TIRED. *snore...*

e 1st period was mathematics...2nd period was PE, yay!! our present module is... GYMNASTICS!! i'm quite familiar wif e aces dae routine now after practising it everi PE lesson (4 bout 5-10 mins...) we created our own routine (including rolls, jumps, cartwheels, and all those stuff!) i found it veri fun... i created mine too! but it came out not veri gd actualli. hahaah!!
